I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Chicago Divinity School. My research situates biblical literature within its ancient Near Eastern milieu, and focuses in particular on literary representations of imperial ideology and military defeat, particularly through the textualization of military catastrophe in gendered and royal idioms across imperial space. At the University of Chicago, I have also studied Hindu sacred epics and their afterlives in contemporary political systems in India as a secondary set of interests. I will receive my doctorate in 2019 from UChicago. I received my MA in Hebrew Bible from Yale Divinity School, and BA in Theology from Boston College.
